kłtql̓tikn naqs (Mountain Top One): Preparing for the Journey

Share

An essential first step to in beginning our journey to the mountaintops is creating and preparing a support team that will be able to successfully teach and lead our youth to the summit! It’s important that we establish a strong foundation and do everything we can to make this series all it can be for our youth.

We all know that getting youth on the land is a critical element of healing and achieving success in our lives – BUT – the challenge is HOW to engage and get youth inspired and mobilized to be on the land? Kłtql̓tikn naqs is an opportunity to build on your youth mentorship skills and increase your capacity to connect with youth and how to make this fun.

Join us for two days as we ‘train the trainer’ – you will learn ways to meaningfully bring youth out onto the land and lead adventurous journeys. Learn fun and engaging activities to use with youth to deepen their connection to the land, strengthen relationships, and motivate youth to get out on the land! Also, you will have the opportunity to help shape this series by providing insight into what works for your community.

Who? We are looking for community members, band staff, and youth mentors, elders, and parents who are passionate about helping our youth, getting on the land, and who really want to be part of strengthening community linkages.
